3 great walks

The Flannel Flower Walk

Walk 1:Black

Our favourite, The Flannel Flower walk. About 6 kms round trip. Stunning views.

Start at the Hardy's Bay corner and walk west along Araluen Drive which takes a sharp right turn to follow the bay around. Just keep walking around the bay. 100m after the Tennis court follow the road around to the left and then turn left into Wagstaffe Ave. About 100m and you will see a track going off to the right that says Lobster Beach access. Head up the hill until you come to a "t" and turn left. (If you go straight ahead you get to Lobster Beach which is very nice too!) Follow this track up the ridge past some houses and then the track turns right and heads up the hill. Keep going up until you get to the rocks and you can see Ettalong on the other side of the bay. Follow the track until you get to a larger intersection where the track forks, straight ahead is Box Head, about a half hour detour but worth it. Straight ahead and to the left is Tallow Beach, also about half an hour. Not going to Box Head or Tallow Beach? turn left and head up to Hawkes Head Drive. Keep a lookout for whales!

Follow that all the way to the roundabout, turn left onto Killcare Drive and head back down to Hardy's Bay. Drop into Fat Goose for a coffee.

Bouddi Coastal Walk

Walk 2: Red

Bouddi park hut to Putty Beach, Boudii Coastal Walk

Out and back about 6 kms. Start and finish at the corner of Maitland Bay Drive and the Scenic Road, There is a carpark with a map of tracks and a Bouddi National Park hut which is rarely open. Head down hill about 15 minutes until just before Maitland Bay and turn right onto the track to Putty Beach. Keep going until you get to Putty Beach, you cant go wrong. At Putty Beach turn around and head back...or...you can continue to walk along the beach to the Killcare surf club where you can pick up a coffee or a burger (add about 3kms).

Ettalong to Umina

Walk 3 : Blue

Ettalong to Umina Beach walk. Maybe 5 kms out and back. This is just a stroll along the beach from Ettalong to Umina. Super nice particularly nice on a beautiful morning or still afternoon. Take swimmers, grab a coffee (at Lords of Pour), explore Ettalong (on the weekend the Emporium markets are unique - eclectic mix of things!).

The Umina Beach Markets are on Sunday morning.

Start at Ettalong ferry stop, walk along the beach to Umina or as far as you feel like, turn around and come back.
